In the 1st version of Hamlet the order of emotion leading up to the end of his conversation with the ghost was sad then angry. Sad because it looked as if Hamlet was almost desperate to find out if the ghost was or was not his father, this feeling created a type of suspense. The lighting was dark and the fact the there was no music made it feel darker and ominous. Once Hamlet realizes that his father is telling him he was murder by the same brother that has taken his wife, Hamlet goes into a rage and starts throw fits, making it a realistic reaction.
Truthfully I didnt understand why, in the 2nd version of Hamlet, did the director choose to take such a aggravated approuch in the scene leading up to hamlet meetin the ghost. It was so intense that at the moment Hamlet showed his saddness it was anti-climatic becuase it felt like that emotion was displaced. Other than that the lighting, the special effect, and the flash backs were all good and helped set a more vivid picture.
As for the last version of Hamlet, it must've been a hard project making Hamlet into a modern movie and yet, still keeping its authenticity. The lighting was ok, it was a typical building lighting nothing special on that part. As for the way the actors portrayed the characters, the ghost showed a lot of anger, maybe because he was angry that he was murder, or could it be that he thinks his son mite not do anything to avenge his death. I also noticed that the tv was shpwing a fire to sort of, intensify the anger that the ghost was showing.
Overall the movie i would preffer to see and recomend is the 1st version because, they didnt get side tracked by special affects or by being noticed as an actor, they acted the parts they were given and its more closely related to the book.
